Bentonville’s First Gluten Free Brewery Is Open and It’s Legit
Heads up, Bentonville: there’s a new spot shaking up the brewery scene. Stoic Brews Alternative just opened in the old Peddler’s Pub building on SW A Street, and it’s officially the first completely gluten-free brewery and taproom in the entire state. Big deal? Absolutely—especially if you or someone you know has ever struggled to find a place that’s truly safe for gluten-free dining and drinking.

Built from a Personal Mission
Stoic Brews isn’t just a trendy concept—it’s a personal passion project turned full-blown community hub. The owners, Rebecca and Jay Davitt, are NWA locals who saw a gap and decided to fill it. After years of dealing with food sensitivities and limited options, they created a space where people with gluten issues could actually relax, enjoy a meal, and have a beer without worry.
Everything on the menu is 100% gluten-free. That means the beer, the food, the sauces—literally all of it. And they don’t mess around with “gluten-reduced” shortcuts. It’s all made from scratch using gluten-free grains like millet, buckwheat, and rice. The result? Beer that’s gut-friendly and still totally crushable.
What’s on Tap (and the Plate)
Let’s talk about the goods. Right now, Stoic Brews has six core beers on tap, including a blonde, a hazy IPA, a stout, and a Belgian-style witbier. They also offer vodka-based drinks, kombucha, and probiotic sodas if beer’s not your thing. And yes, wine too.
Food-wise, think cozy bar comfort: pizzas, nachos, pretzels, calzones, and pupusas. All of it gluten-free, and all of it locally sourced—including dough from Sandi Sue’s Gluten Free Bakery in Bentonville. So even if you’re just here for the snacks, your stomach will thank you later.
Why You Should Check It Out
Even if you don’t need to eat gluten-free, Stoic Brews is worth a visit. The vibe is chill, the beer is solid, and the people are kind. It’s a space built around inclusion and community—but without feeling preachy or niche. Whether you’re there for a post-bike ride pint or a cozy evening bite with friends, you’ll feel right at home.
Plus, how often do you get to say you’ve been to the first of something in Arkansas?
