Branch Out During Fayetteville Tree Week
Fayetteville Tree Week is here—and it’s the perfect excuse to step outside and enjoy the spring weather. From April 19 to April 26, join a weeklong lineup of family-friendly events dedicated to trees, sustainability, and the outdoors.
Whether you’re into nature walks, free workshops, or getting your hands dirty with a tree planting, there’s something for everyone. Bonus: many events are free and great for kids!

What’s Happening Around Town
April 19 – Free Tree Giveaway
They’re giving away 300 native trees at the Spring Street Parking Garage from 8 a.m. to noon. First come, first served. One tree per person. Perfect excuse to finally plant something that’s not a pothos.
April 20 – Scavenger Hunt at Gulley Park
From 2 to 3:30 p.m., kids (ages 5–16) can join a nature-themed scavenger hunt with prizes. If you’ve got littles with energy to burn, this one’s gold.
April 21 – Tree “Price Tags” Around Fayetteville
Trees in local parks will wear tags showing their environmental value—carbon storage, stormwater savings, the works. Each tag includes a QR code so you can look up your tree’s “net worth.”
April 22 – Earth Day Hike in the Ramble
There are two guided hike options (noon or 6 p.m.) starting at the Fayetteville Public Library’s south lot. It’s a paved, 1.5-mile trail through spring blooms and shady trees.
April 24 – Tree Care Class at the Library
Join the Urban Forestry team at 6 p.m. for a hands-on class about tree care and how to advocate for more greenery in your neighborhood. Bring questions—and maybe a notebook.
April 25 – Arbor Day Plaque Reveal
The 2025 “Amazing Tree of Fayetteville” will be honored at Walker Park with a plaque ceremony and a proclamation from Mayor Molly Rawn. Meet near S. Block Ave and E. 13th St at 6 p.m.
April 26 – Guided Hikes at BGO
End the week with free guided hikes during the Earth Day Market at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks. Five hike times between 12:30 and 5 p.m., each with a city forester leading the way.
